Organization: The Baton Exchange — Columbus, Ohio
Category: Volunteer / Project-Based
Commitment: Flexible, Remote-Friendly
About the Organization
The Baton Exchange is a nonprofit ministry that connects Christian young professionals and college students to mentors in their field. Their mission is to raise up the next generation of believers to be a redemptive influence in the global marketplace for Christ.

Overview of the Need
Baton Exchange currently uses a comprehensive assessment tool to help participants discern calling, identify growth areas, and prepare for mentoring. Right now, the tool exists as a lengthy PDF that must be printed and completed manually, making it difficult to use and share. They are seeking a volunteer to help transform this assessment into an online, interactive, user-friendly experience.
Responsibilities
- The volunteer will help create a web-hosted solution that allows users to:
- – Complete the assessment online (in sections or all at once)
- – Save their progress and return later
- – Enter responses via checkboxes and short-text fields
- – Receive a generated PDF summary report
- – Integrate results with mentoring materials
- – (If possible) sync results with their CRM (Planning Center)
- – Use tools or plugins compatible with Google Workspace
Ideal Outcome
- – A simple, accessible digital tool
- – Minimal administrative maintenance
- – Increased completion and ease of sharing with mentors
- – Seamless connection to Baton Exchange’s mentoring curriculum
Skills Helpful (not required)
- – Web development or no-code form-building
- – Experience with Google Workspace or online form tools
- – Knowledge of PDF automation or workflow builders
